ARE WE ABLE TO LEARN AND
TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT BEER?

In the United States, the most recent dietaryrecommendations by the Department of Agriculture refer to health benefitsof moderate alcohol consumption for certain people, while the consequencesof excessive alcohol consumption are highlighted with great emphasis.

It is worth to mention a national health surveyof 15,000 adults between 25 and 65 years of age in Germany that lead tothe conclusion: "By far the largest amount of beer is consumed in moderationin all sectors of society." But what do we know about the distributionof  beer/alcohol consumption in the United States?

Are local and state laws and regulators limitingour rights to tell the truth about the vast benefits of moderate beer consumption?

Should it be possible to give individuals comprehensiveinformation on the positive effects of moderate alcohol consumption, especiallybeer consumption, while attempting to reduce the number of excessive drinkers?

Should brewers be able to highlight the advantagesof moderate beer consumption in a much more agressive manner?
