ARE WE ABLE TO LEARN AND
TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT BEER?

In the United States, the most recent dietary recommendations by the Department of Agriculture refer to health benefits of moderate alcohol consumption for certain people, while the consequences of excessive alcohol consumption are highlighted with great emphasis.

It is worth to mention a national health survey of 15,000 adults between 25 and 65 years of age in Germany that lead to the conclusion: "By far the largest amount of beer is consumed in moderation in all sectors of society." But what do we know about the distribution of  beer/alcohol consumption in the United States?

Are local and state laws and regulators limiting our rights to tell the truth about the vast benefits of moderate beer consumption?

Should it be possible to give individuals comprehensive information on the positive effects of moderate alcohol consumption, especially beer consumption, while attempting to reduce the number of excessive drinkers?

Should brewers be able to highlight the advantages of moderate beer consumption in a much more agressive manner?
